Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Checkpointd ("we", "us") collects when you use the Checkpointd app and website, and how it's used. Checkpointd is a game-tracking and social app — most of what we store is content you choose to put there.
Information you provide
- Account info — email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase), plus your chosen username, display name, avatar, and bio.
- Activity you log — games and missions you rate or review, status (playing, beaten, etc.), playtime, and any text you write.
- Social content — comments, community posts, direct messages, follows, and likes.
- Linked platform handles — if you choose to add them, your Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or Epic username/ID, so friends can find you there. We don't receive your password for those services. If you use Steam import, we read your public Steam library to help you log games faster.
Device permissions
The app may ask for access to your photo library so you can set a profile picture or save a share card, and to send push notifications for things like new followers or replies. You can decline or revoke these at any time in your device settings — the app still works without them, minus the specific feature.
How we use this
To run the core product: showing your log and profile to people who follow you, powering search and recommendations, sending notifications you've opted into, and moderating content that violates our community standards. We don't sell your data, and we don't run third-party ad networks inside the app.
Where it's stored
Data lives in a managed Postgres database (Supabase). Game metadata (covers, summaries) is cached from IGDB and RAWG. Reasonable technical and access controls (row-level security, moderator-gated admin access) are in place, but no system is perfectly secure.
Your choices
You can edit or delete most of your content directly in the app. To request full account deletion or a copy of your data, email us — see Contact below.
Children
Checkpointd is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes materially.
